Women perform Jumu'ah, or Friday midday prayer, at the Islamic Center. There are no chairs or pews in the prayer areas of a mosque so as to allow as many people as possible in the room. In Islam, prayer in congregation is considered to be more beneficial both spiritually and socially than praying alone.
