May 2, 2005- Slugs wait in line to catch a ride to the “Bob’s Big Boy” stop in Springfield, Virginia off of I-95. During the rush hour commute people wait in line to hitch rides with single drivers who need the occupants in order to use the HOV lanes. Slug lines have been around throughout the metropolitan area since the opening of HOV-3 lanes in 1971.
