Second Chance Wildlife Center, located in Gaithersberg MD, ehabilitates injured or abandoned wildlife. Most animal injuries are the result of being hit by a car. Often young wildlife, such as squirrels are orphaned by their parents in order to concentrate on stronger members of the litter. Prior to being released, the animals spent time outside in order to acclimate them to the wild.Even though staff and volunteers try to avoid becoming attached to the animals, it is evident their love for the animals runs deep. |
